How to avoid to land in a SPAM/Junk Folder?

Hi Marketo-Team,

We do have problems with some of our Marketo mail recipients. Although the sender was entered in Marketo properly, some of our customers receive our email correspondence like shown in the screenshot.

We've been told that emails with this sender were directly routed into the Junk-mail folder and thus our customers did not realize they have received an email from us. This concerns several Marketo campaigns.

We have already checked this with our IT but they told us we should contact you directly as they cannot do anything about it.

Do you have any idea how to handle this?

Thanks in advance for letting me know

Irene

IAlthough the sender was entered in Marketo properly, some of our customers receive our email correspondence like shown in the screenshot.

In fact all of your leads receive email with a value like this as the sender, because that's how your Marketo subscription is set up.

This is known as the SMTP envelope sender.  It's distinguished from the From:, Reply-To:, and Sender: headers. It doesn't matter how you set up the headers of the email itself, the envelope sender is not managed via the Marketo UI.

You can add a branded envelope sender domain to your subscription (for an additional cost) which would remove those particular "identifying marks" of Marketo, but it's not like a recipient can't tell the emails were sent via Marketo if their overall intent is to block emails from the platform.

Hi there,

Referencing the reply above, what is the cost for the branded envelope sender domain add-on?

You have to talk to your account manager b/c the cost is graded based on the size of your database, other existing options, and (to be frank) time of year.
