Hi all - I am curious to hear how you opt-in sales generated leads for your marketing campaigns. Though declining in numbers as we handle more of the lead generation, our sales teams still add tons of fairly unqualified contacts/prospects into SFDC. We want to make sure that these leads are not being contacted out of context with our current campaigns. I'm curious how you have your syncs set up to identify that these leads are not marketing ready. Is it a simple check box for sales? If you do not have anything set up, what kind of campaigns do you run to get this group of leads opted in to marketing? Thank you.
Yo can easily use a "lead is created" trigger with "source type = SFDC" constraint to identify these leads when they are created in Marketo from SFDc and trigger some smart campaign that will categorize the leads, for instance.
Another, recommended tactics is to use sales insight here: create a few emails / smart campaigns that you make available to the sales and propose them to add these new SFDC contacts to these smart campaigns or to send these emails. The campaigns and/or emails will include links to dedicate content, some of them with forms. monitor lead reactions to these content pieces and include reactive leads in you smart campaigns.
