Help! My clicks within an email are not calculating.

I need a task to generate once this happens and it is not sending either. Have trigger for "clicks link in email" and tried variations for the link. Advice?

Hi Lindsay,

Do you have any leads you know have clicked the link?  It's best to look in a lead's activity history to see exactly what link is getting logged.  This will tell you what the trigger will be looking for.

Also, are you sure the link is getting "wrapped"/tracked?  If you think it might not be getting tracked like it should, please feel free to open a case with Support.

These are my assumptions:

1) Make sure you have not enabled "mktNoTrack" in Classes of your CTA or URL's. For more info visit Disable Tracking for an Email Link.

2) Do you see leads in your results tab of your campaigns? If NO, check to see you are calling the correct email with NO RED squiggle lines on the trigger.

3) Are these links referring to your pdfs hosted over Marketo, sometimes Marketo URL masking creates trouble and ends up with broken page error. Try hosting them over Marketo LP.

Hi Lindsay,

Adding on to Priyank's reply, is your link a token value? It's a known problem that links in a token aren't shown in reports. To circumvent this you can break off the http:// or https:// from the token value. The link in the email would the look like this: http://{{my.tokenvalue}}.

This way Marketo will know that it's a link that needs to be tracked.
