To follow up on this topic, what if I wanted to use a token to personilze a new email to the person who was forwarded an email using the first name of the lead who forwarded the email?
Example:
John forwards an email he received to Sally
Then, I want to have another email go to Sally that says something like "Your friend John thinks you would be interested in....etc, etc"
Is there a way to have this a) all be autimated through triggers and b) attribute the correct forwarding person with the new associated lead?
You should be able to use the same filter/trigger, Click Link in Email, then specify the email. I have not done it myself, but I assume that should work.
One last thing- if i'm tracking who clicks "forward the email", how would i track to see if the receiver actually clicks a link in the forwarded email?
You can also use litmus to track who forwards any email without needing a token. They have a great analytics tool that works with marketo emails. - Jeff
