Form fields showing as required when required box unchecked

I have fields that are showing as required (with asterick) when the required box is NOT checked.  Has anyone else experienced this and have suggested fixes?

It's impossible to help you without a link to your page.

You likely are overriding the CSS that hides the asterisk.

Less likely than Sanford's answer, but is it possible you have a draft of the form / landing page still active? If you made the change but haven't approved those drafts, you will still see the old version.
