Hi All,
I am quite new to Field mapping. I am wondering what does it mean if CRM field map is blank.
I always use SFDC ID to identify if they are already on salesforce or not but I notice that some records dont have sfdc ID but have saleforce record.
Note: we only sync our record when they reach our threshold (MQL)
Thanks,
Ron
Hi Jas,
Yes, that field is not synced with your Salesforce.
Product docs have some great descriptions on how the sync works: SFDC Sync Details - Marketo Docs - Product Docs
It might be a good idea to create a smart list where SFDC Type (Lead) is not blank or SFDC ID is not blank, so you can see all the leads that synced.
Hi Liz,
I am trying to create that report,
But I got this error
no matches for that filter.
and also Some have contact ID but no sfdc ID
and Gerard Donnelly give a link to a doc that sfdc id is a default field.
Thank you so much liz,
Regards,
Jas
You should see if you have two SFDC ID fields.
Liz's suggestion is good, but you'd have to do
SFDC Type IS NOT EMPTY
AND
SFDC ID IS EMPTY
to understand if there's a real data issue. And then flip the operators to see if there could be deleted records in SFDC that left remnants behind in Marketo.
In the past, a separate SFDC ID field was required to see that unique ID. But I believe Marketo now does sync that automatically and makes it visible for use.
Hi Josh,
Thank you.
As you can see I have a contact ID but the the sfdc ID and type is blank
We only have 1 sfdc ID field
and i am also trying to do that report but i got this result.
No matches for sfdc ID on Smart list
Apologies for asking too many question
Thanks,
Jas
Hi Jas Jones,
That field is a system field (Read Only) created in Marketo. It is not mapped to a field in the CRM. Have a look at the bottom of this page Default Salesforce Field Mapping - Marketo Docs - Product Docs . The reason this is blank on some of your records is because it only gets populated when the lead or contact is synced with Salesforce.
Have you checked how the leads that have a record got entered into your system? I bet it wasnt through Marketo. They have probably been manually entered by sales or through an upload into Salesforce etc... This means they are sitting in Salesforce and also separately in Marketo because they have not reached your MQL score and synced to Salesforce. This is why most people like to have a mirror sync on their system.
Hi Gerard
i appreciate your prompt response to this matter.
I also check other mandatory field
I am just confuse because I saw some records like this thy have contact ID but no SFDC ID so i check the field mapping and I saw that.
But here is an example
Thanks,
Jas
