Fail to use Calendar Tokens with Japanese Characters, any idea?

When I put Japanese characters under the Calendar Subject and embed it into an email. We can't download the the calendar file as it appears as a non-ics file.

Only if I use an English Subject for the calendar, I can download the correct .ics file from the email.

Anyone knows if Japanese Characters not supported here or if I have missed anything?

I’m not able to reproduce this — when the Subject of the Calendar token is

平仮名

this gets correctly encoded as

and downloaded as

Re: Fail to use Calendar Tokens with Japanese Characters, any idea?

Hi there,

I'm afraid your sample is not totally Japanese Characters as those are characters shared with Chinese. In my case, those "characters" are actually some "Japanese alphabet" that may lead to the calendar display issues.

For example,

Thank you refers to ありがとう

America is written as アメリカ

America in your case, can also be translated to 米国, however, since 米国 is also a Chinese Character so it won't have problem.

So the questions is, I can't use Japanese alphabet when put it as Calendar subject.

Thanks.

No difference with the description:

アメリカ

Encoding is correct:

The Chinese and Japanese characters are both part of the CJK character block, would be bizarre for them to be treated differently.
