Not sure about external platforms (are you referring to platforms like OneTrust for preference center & cookie consent?), but within Marketo the best practice is to govern GDPR consent policies for your known records by a program (or programs) that embodies your legal's interpretation of the regulations according to your company policies.

@Chris_Willis1 When you say a program that "embodies legal interpretation" what do you mean? Assuming there are contacts in the database that we're not sure we have the legal right to contact, what is the best practice with regard to managing these? I'd imagine we'd need to purge them to be on the safe side?
