Hi
Recently I did a mailout for a small campaign to a select few leads. One of them however didn't receive an email and when I looked into the records, it was labelled as below:
However I can confirm that I can email this person normally and has responded to me with the exact same email even after I send the campaign. Any idea why this is happening?
Thanks
Marketo appears to have received a hard bounce and Invalidated the email. From the description, it looks like you have an automated flow invalidating people at the 3 hard bounce. If the user truly exists, then their server may be blocking you for spam. Please ask them to whitelist you.
Marketo itself will never email someone with Invalid=T or Blacklisted=T.
Operational emails only get sent to Suspended=T and Unsub=T, but never the other two.
Hi Josh
Thanks for the answer. Makes sense - not sure why our email is blocked though..we don't really send a lot of emails?
Spamminess isn't only, or even principally, about volume.
That is true but we interact with the customer and they were asking for the emails that we send. Could it have been just an accidental blacklist (someone clicked spam)?
Coulda been isolated. But also remember that the customer and the customer's IT may have different interests. Some of the worst deliverability problems we have are with people that are active business partners!
Something slightly odd.
Email Invalid is usually a checkbox. In your case it is a read only field.
Email suspended is a similar field that once updated can't be reversed.
I wonder if there are some subscriptions out there who have their Email Suspended field described as "Email Invalid".
