Does Marketo have the ability to allow pdf attachments in emails?

Re: Email Attachments?

Nope -- well covered in other Community threads.

Also, Qs about product capabilities/support should go in the Products space, not Mktg Central.

Re: Email Attachments?

There is a backdoor way to use pdf in email:

1. Upload the pdf file to your 'Images and Files" folder in Marketo design center.

2. the pdf will get a url (see picture below). copy it.

3. Create your email with cta button, pointing at the  pdf's url. Click on the link will open the pdf file immediately.

Linking to a URL is a backdoor way to get an attachment?

Re: Email Attachments?

It would be better to have option to attach file, but since we don't have this option - this is one way you can do it.

Re: Email Attachments?

I don't think it would be better at all if you want emails to be delivered.

Re: Email Attachments?

Why?

Is there a problem with doing it this way?

Re: Email Attachments?

Attachments are abusive to both the sender's systems and to recipients. A 1MB attachment instead of a 1K email uses 1000 times the network I/O, and requires antivirus scanning on the recipient side. In an MA context, attachments will just tick people off. Plus, you can't track who opens them.

Re: Email Attachments?

If you link the pdf to a URL, you can track the clicks to that URL by setting up a campaign with a 'Clicks Link in Email' trigger. The recipient can also download the pdf from the URL.

Re: Email Attachments?

Please pay attention to the topic. A PDF attachment cannot be tracked. We're specifically talking about attachments as opposed to URLs.
