Re: Data Value Change vs Score is Change

Data Value Change allows you to change the score to a specific number. For example, if everyone in a particular list should have 20 points, then you can change the value to 20. The Score change option allows you to add or subtract points from their score that already exists. For example, if you want to add 5 points to anyone's score who downloaded a white paper, then you would use the change score. If you used the Data Value Change for this, then you would be changing everyone's score to 5 and not adding 5 points to any score they may have already.

Hope that makes sense.

Also be aware that using Change Score = X will set the score to X

Re: Data Value Change vs Score is Change

One more thing:

If you want to set a scoring field to the value of another, you need the Change Data Value flow step - the Change Score flow step does not allow you to use a token with another field value.

Example:

- You do separate scoring for Behavior and Demographics.
- You use the Lead Scoring field for the total of the above
- Now you want to reset your Behavior Score to ZERO, because your lead goes into the Recycle stage
- This means, your Lead Score now equals the Demographic Score
- The only way to accomplish this is to use the Change Data Value flow step, and set the Lead Score to {{lead.Demographic Score}}
