Data Capture at events

Is it possible to create a form on a landing page that will not be sent out as an email, but rather be used to collect lead data on site? Ideally, we would like to have the form on our ipads so we can capture data immediately when a lead comes through the door at our offline events.

I have created a form and landing page for this, but was wondering if there are additional steps I need to take to make sure this works.

We've done this a couple times. Make sure you don't have any smart campaigns that trigger an email or that the form would cause a value change that would result in an email send. You should be good to go.

Yes, you can create Kiosk page+form. As Joe mentioned, ensure that your form name won't trigger something else.

You could have it trigger a thank you to the lead after the event.

But why not use the IPad Event App to manage that instead?

Great point Josh! We've only used the app for events that we had the list of registered attendees. The app does have the ability to create new leads though. For our purposes, we had a list of fields (outside of basic information) we wanted to capture at the event.

Whitney, if you have some specific fields other than (name, title, email, company and phone number) then you will want to use the form you have set up. If you are only collecting email, name and phone OR if you will have questionable internet access then you should absolutely try out the iPad Event App. You will have to do a little setup, but it is worth it!
