Why does the total click number shown in the Dashboard differ from the Email Performance Report total?
In this case, the total clicks in Dashboard is 93 while the total clicks for the same email is 143.
Is the dashboard click number based on uniques?
thx
Jon

Hi Jon,
That's correct. The dashboard reflects "the number of leads who have clicked at least one link in the email", where as the email link performance report reflects "the number of clicks in the email". If a lead clicks two different links in the same email, that counts as "1" toward the dashboard but "2" toward the email link performance report.

I think it is because the Dashboard shows the number of leads that clicked one or more links in an email, while your link performance report is counting the clicks on different links. For example if you sent an email with 4 links to one lead, and he clicked every link in your email, the Dashboard would show 1 Click while the Link Performance report would show 4 Clicks.
Thank you Grant and Elliott!

This makes sense. However, I am seeing the opposite. The number of clicks in one email in the Email Performance Report are 161, but the Email Link Performance Report shows the number of clicks for that same email to be 28.
Alicia,
Are you positive that the report is for the same timeframe in the Setup tab, and that the filters and logic in the report's smart list are identical?
Grant
They were not the same timeframe. However syncing the timeframe only seemed to make the discrepancy worse. The mystery remains.
Good idea though!
Yes, I too am seeing the same thing. More clicks in the dashboard than in the report. How can this be?
