We need to push out a communications to our database and each communication has a custom piece of information we need to include (which we can include as a token). The challenge is some email address are tied to multiple accounts so instead of sending the same message with a custom message in three different emails, we want to be able to send all custom information within the one email. The custom information is also not currently in marketo so we will need to upload this into a custom field. Also for the custom information we want to include the date.
I've tried to show an example below. Has anyone ever dealt with this issue?
Account Name | Custom information for token | Date |
---|---|---|
Account X | 12345 | Sep 14 |
Account X | 45678 | Sep 18 |
Account X | 76544 | Sep 25 |
Account Y | 34567 | Sep 16 |
Account Z | 23456 | Sep 20 |

This doesn't really seem appropriate for a custom field to me, based on the information provided so far. You might want to look into a custom object.
Hi Tim,
We have too little info to be able to help you.

Thanks Greg
Our CRM is SFDC, but not all data is in there currently. Also on the second question the contact is linked to multiple accounts.
Hi Kristen,
Fully agreed. You may want to use SFDC custom objects and map them to Marketo, rather than using Marketo custom objects.

I agree with Kristen. With Marketo Custom objects coming out, it seems as though this might be a great use case for that.
For the contacts that are associated with multiple accounts, is this data point different?
