Custom Object Subject Line Spacing Issues

Sending an email with a dynamic subject line using Custom Objects. I am able to render this successfully with the Custom Object Token and corresponding Custom Object Field in the subject line. However, when I send a sample or live send...there is a space that is created that I can't seem to fix. Suggestions? Pic below.

Velocity is strictly space-preserving. It doesn't create spaces, but it will not remove them.

But you haven't shown your code, so it's not possible to show you where this is happening.
