Custom Metadata Field for Shortened Naming Conventions

Hello,

The marketing team at our organization utilizes Marketo's encouraged naming conventions for building our assets. However, they would like to have an additional shortened version of names for our front-end reporting.

The desired solution is something like a customizable metadata field that can be added to all existing and new marketing activities (like the description field). Ideally, we would like this to be present in Marketo itself as we feed the data into a data warehouse and would like to avoid any additional ETL layers. 

What options are possible to have this additional metadata captured in Marketo and be exportable through an API?

A Program-level {{my.token}} could be used for this. It’ll be exportable via API, though there is a separate call necessary to get the tokens for a single Program ID.
