Re: CRM and Marketo - two-way (bidirectional) integration

Hello everyone,

I wonder if someone has experience with connecting Marketo with CRM in two-way (bidirectional) communication?

Our plan is to create landing page with a form on it to collect data from our customers and than connect or transfer same data (content to which the user subscribed, content that does not interest him, the content that was offered to him etc.) from Marketo to the customer record in CRM.

Is it possible to do it with some connector such as kingswaysoft (to achieve bidirectional connection)?

We established CRM - Marketo integration and we are syncing fields (guests) from CRM to Marketo. Now we want to create 360 view for the customer in Dynamics with all information we can gather, especially sent from marketo.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Marko,

If you still consider using third-party tool to do the integration, I would recommend you check the commercial COZYROC SSIS+ library. It includes both Dynamics CRM and Marketo adapters. The tools are completely free for testing and development from Visual Studio.

Ivan, this post is violation of the Community Guidelines:

(And framing it as a "recommendation" without divulging that you run the company doesn't make it better, it makes it worse.)

Hi Sanford,

Thank you for your efforts! The Community guidelines state: (i.e. no ads, promotions, links to forms or your site, etc.)

The link I have posted doesn't link to any of these off topics listed in the guideline. Therefore I believe my post has value and will be appreciated by people who are non-programmers and need bi-directional integration process working between Dynamics CRM and Marketo.

There are many people on the Community who create products that would be "valuable and appreciated" by Marketo users, Ivan.  All are subject to the same rules.

The guidelines are clearly designed to curb this kind of drive-by advertisement. I can't fathom the type of selective reading you must be doing to believe your post is not in violation: you obviously promoted your commercial product by name and linked to its home page, it's there for anybody to see.

Sanford,

I stand corrected. I realized shortly I posted the guidelines essentially prohibit any type of linking. I apologize.

Hi Marko, that is a good question. Maybe we can connect to chat about it? We ran into this kind of thing and helped a few people with that. Cheers

Hi Victoria, we decided to use and developed a Rest API that exports activity log data from the leads in Marketo and transfers it to the CRM, but thank you for your offer.

We're using Microsoft Dynamics 365 Version 1612 (8.2.2.160) online.

We have already established the connection between CRM and Marketo, but the connection is one way only. From CRM into Marketo. We're syncing guests to whom we send newsletters, pre and post stay letters for their reservations in our hotels.

Now we need to tie those informations to the guest entity in CRM. Same thing applies to landing pages with form on it, we can see data in Marketo but we want to transfer it to the CRM to create 360 view for the customer and that's why I'm asking for "perfect" connector that will allow us to send data back from marketo into CRM and to be displayed on the guest entity.

The Bulk Activity Extract API aounds like partial solution to our problem.

Marko - what CRM are you using? That'll help us be more specific. You mentioned Dynamics above, which leads me down the "why not use the inbuilt connector?" road unless I'm missing something.

Hi Marko,

If you're looking to pass data such as what content the user is subscribed to, what content interests them, etc., you would need custom fields for all that. I'd suggest looking into Marketo Sales Insight to pass back activity type data.

Hi Julie,

Thank you for the answer.

Yes, we are aware that we will need to create custom fields. CRM development and customization is not a problem, integration with Marketo is.
We're searching for perfect connector to sync fields bidirectional.

There is no such off-the-shelf "perfect connector," Marko.

The only way to realistically embark on this project is to build a custom integration and ETL workflow using the Bulk Activity Extract API. You'll need to convene a true project -- from requirements gathering to diligence to design to implementation -- more than can be done on a Community post!
