I'm using the Email Editor 2.0 - Rather than copying each section of my newsletter to text, is there a way to copy all of the HTML to text at one time?
Solved! Go to Solution.
Click on Text at the bottom and you will see the editor for the Text version w/ the options to copy from HTML or automatically copy over from HTML.
Jasmine Kyles - Can you elaborate on what you want to do? In Email Editor 2.0, the contents of all rich-text elements will auto-copy to the text version. Are you wanting something else to get copied over?
Justin
Hi Jasmine Kyles
I think you have an issue and it's Marketo bug.
Because similar issue was posted at Japanese MUG today
Please give more information.
- which mail template
- browser
- OS
What is the bug? I have not seen any issues with the functionality I described above.
This issue has been reported by a few companies in JMUG.
- Automatically copy from HTML is enable
- Edit Message Body at HTML tab but Text is still blank
Environment
- Basic template
- Chrome 5.0.2883.87 m
- Windows7
- No Editing HTML directly
Workaround
- Copy & paste text manually
When you say "edit message body at HTML" tab, what do you mean? Remember, the only thing that gets copied is the text contents of a rich-text element, nothing else. No other part of the HTML will get copied over. A rich-text element is defined here: https://docs.marketo.com/display/DOCS/Email+Template+Syntax
https://docs.marketo.com/display/DOCS/Email+Template+Syntax
So, using your example, when I have a rich-text element like this
<div class="mktoText">
Here's some body
</div>
I can either edit the rich-text contents using our rich-text editor (click the element in the WYSIWYG and select "Edit") or I can click "Edit Code" at the top of the email editor and then add some additional copy via the HTML code editor. When I press "Save" and return to the WYSIWYG, I do see the new text copied over into this element in both the HTML version of the email and the TEXT version.
Justin
I called "HTML Tab" is
I called "Edit Massage Body" is
Text is empty after the user saved.
Yes, I do think this might be a bug when I'm using Chrome. I was trying to avoid copy + paste manually. I am able to copy all the HTML to text in other browsers.
