Centralized Latest SFDC Campaign Name

Hello,

I am trying to centralize a smart campaign to update the latest SFDC Campaign Name for a record. I'm trying to assess if this is doable in Marketo or if I need my SFDC admin to create a flow:

I would want two central SCs:
1) To Stamp a Lead Source Program (1 time)

2) To Stamp the latest SFDC Campaign Name (Lead Source Program Latest)

Thank you!

Re: Centralized Latest SFDC Campaign Name

This is just fine, though the activity date constraint doesn’t make sense: if you’re triggering on one activity, it’s always in the past 2 hours.

Re: Centralized Latest SFDC Campaign Name

Are the SFDC Campaigns synced with Marketo Programs?

Create an Executable smart campaign with CDV flow steps for the fields you want to update, and use the {{program.name}} token (assuming your Marketo programs share a naming convention with the SFDC campaigns).

In the Marketo programs where the SFDC campaign sync happens, within one of your smart campaigns, add an Execute Campaign flow step to call your new Executable smart campaign, and set Parent Tokens to TRUE.

The field values will be updated with the name of the originating Marketo program.

Re: Centralized Latest SFDC Campaign Name

Our Marketo programs do not share the same naming convention as our SFDC campaigns.

We do not use the Program sync - we're using the flow step to add to our SFDC campaigns

Also we have over 1000+ active Marketo programs, so it would be kinda tedious/impossible to update.

Well... what’s the result of that Smart Campaign?

Hi sanford!

Seems to be working - I'm just making sure this is a sound way to go about it other than the preferable execute campaign logic per program.

thanks

Re: Centralized Latest SFDC Campaign Name

So "added to SFDC campaign" is sufficient?

Thanks!

Re: Centralized Latest SFDC Campaign Name

Yes, you’re triggering, so the trigger fires immediately when they’re added.

Ha! I think you mean to say "duh"

Thanks again! 🙂

Re: Centralized Latest SFDC Campaign Name

Well, it’s kind of confusing that the option is there (for a one-time activity you shouldn’t be allowed to set a lookback period) so it’s not total Duh. 🙂
