Can you create multiple subfolders with the same name in a Marketo org tree

Currently, when trying to set up a folder structure that uses the same subfolder naming conventions that i have in other folders, I get an error saying that the folder already exists... example is as follows

2013 Partner Marketing

>Offer Emails

>Webinars

>Newsletters

>Events

2014 Partner Marketing

>Offer Emails

>Webinars

>Newsletters

>Events

For the sake of organization, I want to keep a consistant heirachy across years (or departments/geos in some cases), but Marketo o wont let me create the 2014 Subfolders because the folder names already exist. It would be great to be able to establish a heirarchy that allows for subfolders to be created with the same name for consistency in organization. Is this possible in some way now or would that need ot be a feature request?

Hi Julie

We had this problem when establishing folder initially so we just included the year and region in the sub folders as Marketo seems to want a unique identifier per folder

e.g.


2013 Partner Marketing
>Offer Emails 2013
>Webinars 2013
>Newsletters 2013
>Events 2013

2014 Partner Marketing
>Offer Emails 2014
>Webinars 2014
>Newsletters 2014
>Events 2014

it depends. you can do that in design studio or lead database but not in marketing activities. We have done like Colin :

Z-NORAM Emails
