Can I Create a new Custom Field in Marketo that is not synced to Salesforce

Just to give you a little background, we use Salesforce as a CRM and we have everything synced from Marketo to SFDC.

I have a special project to create a custom dynamic content Email Campaign that uses data from certain new fields (that I need to create in Marketo and feed only via Data import). The trickiest part is that I don't want  these new fields to be visible or created/ reflected in Salesforce in any way. Is that possible?

What's your suggestion in this case? Can you please let me know what to do and where to look at to create thsese fields in such way?

Kind regards,

Mihai

Re: Can I Create a new Custom Field in Marketo that is not synced to Salesforce

Hi Mihai Bejgu,

Every field that you will create in Marketo will NOT and NEVER be synched in SFDC.

So just to to admin -> field management, then hit the "New Custom Filed button" and fill out the dialog.

Be aware, you will not be able to delete these fields, only hide them, so be careful.

Greg, as I'm sure you know, but it's valuable to mention here as well, you can have fields created in Marketo mapped to fields in SFDC, you just have to contact support to get it done.
