Hi everybuddy,
I have a bit of a strange question that my team has experienced here. In 2014, we set up batch campaigns that were recurring everyday to run. It was running smoothly so we kind of forgot about it and found out this morning that the campaign had suddenly stopped auto-running out of nowhere as of September 2016. We're not sure if it's a human accidentally error or something happened in the Marketo system.
Has anyone experienced something like this yet? Thanks for your help!
Marketo only turns off trigger campaigns after 6 months of inactivity, but you are alerted of them prior. In terms of batch campaigns, are you seeing any future runs in the "schedule" tab? Under "Schedule Recurrence" was it previously set to "Daily" and now it is set to "None"?
We noticed something similar a few months ago for a number of scheduled batch campaigns. We couldn't find any reason to think Marketo automatically shut them off, so we attributed it back to human error. Interesting that you experienced it too. Hopefully the audit trail will help troubleshoot now.
It's possible Marketo had a hidden thing to shut down if no leads were affected. Are you sure it was affecting people until it shut down?
Also, you should check on these things periodically. I've had campaigns running since 2011 and 2013...most of which I've shut down because no one knew what they did or they had old content.
Thank you all for your guidance! I am thinking what happened is that the leads were coming in incorrectly somehow and the connection broke on that end. That is probably what caused the campaign to turn off on its own after a certain amount of inactivity time. Thank you again!
