Automating SFDC Lead Creation

Hello,

So, I have a list to upload that I DO NOT want syncing with salesforce. Now, I know this question has been asked a lot. What I'm reading over and over is that Marketo does not automatically create a lead in SFDC. Now, this is counter intuitive since the two systems are supposed to be in sync.

Can someone clarify/verify that Marketo doesn't automatically create new leads in SFDC from Marketo?

Hey Dane,

Not to potentially hijack your thread, but I have had experiences where I'll deliberately turn the sync off because I did not want to sync a list, but everything gets pushed to SFDC anyway.   It gets really frustrating when a bunch of duplicate leads get created that aren't attached to any particular object.

So to answer your question, at least anecdotally, yes, in my experience, Marketo does automatically create new leads in SFDC from lists uploaded into Marketo.

HI Dane,

Austin is correct. They automatically sync up depending on your settings/ lead scoring. What you have to be careful about is duplicate leads in your system so we have built out  how to handle lead management to qualify them before syncing them to SalesFroce.

Alright - so, looks leads indeed DO NOT automatically sync to SFDC from MKTO. I'm working with an inherited system. Looks like we have a campaign to push leads to SFDC via Ringlead webhook (great dedup tool).
