@Zoe_Forman - I may have missed it but is there a quiz 2 for this current week?
Yes Fridays for quizzes to be published each week.
@canneberg I believe she will post it tomorrow (Fridays).
A few mentors have noticed that the exam prep guide is throwing 404 errors:
We have reported it to Adobe on Friday evening.
So Module 2 due on Monday to focus on will be delayed until we can get back into the exam prep documents.
How have you got on with week 1 QUIZ
Any questions?
Okay - I did awful on that quiz! I really need to learn to pause and READ. 🤣
Yes I saw your quiz submissions - that's what they are for, learning to read the questions.
You probably know the answers but the multiple choice gives you two possible answers, one maybe possible and a wild one!
Just read the question and pause - often your first thoughts or answer are teh correct one, but you doubt yourself.
Hi all,
Thanks for the introductions, interactions with each other and your initial questions, keep them coming.
How has the first module Building and Managing Programs in the exam prep gone for you?
Any specific questions on this topic? This is the building blocks of what you do day to day in Marketo and accounts for 39% of exam questions. Most of you are already creating programs for various channels, this is more about learning the Marketo terminology.
Here is a quick quiz to check your knowledge, any answers you get incorrect go back through the documents and read the question again. If you get stuck or don't understand the reasoning or question just ask.
Quiz Module 1 Programs: 31 May 2024
Try and read the module in the exam prep and completing the quiz by Sunday and. I will post module 2 Building Assets on Monday.
Thanks, Zoe
I will leave the quiz up for module 1 and you can go back and answer as many times as you want - until you get 10/10.
Please ask me if you are unsure of any questions or need more explanation.
Quiz Module 1 Programs: 31 May 2024
Thanks, @Zoe_Forman. One question that came up from the exam prep this week (and ironically in real life at work 😀) was 'which types of email programs can leverage AB testing?' From my own digging around, I can't find a way to AB test in things like DRIP campaigns, Nurtures, etc. Only with one-off/one-time sends is what I could actually AB test (the purple mailbox icon programs).
We're an Adobe enterprise account, so we are trying to squeeze as much juice out of our Marketo usage as we can, particularly around testing for our audience.
Hi @canneberg
The email A/b testing is done in the email program (purple), you can't add the Email send program to the Engagement program's stream as content.
A/B Testing can be done based on Subject Line, Whole emails, from address and date time of email programs (purple)
For your nurture are you using Marketo's Engagement program or building manual nurture?
You can A/B test on the individual email (purple) if building manually, but not in the nurture program
Before adding emails into a drip or nurture program it is best to do your a/b testing first as a blast email with a test sample.
Does that clarify for you?
Thanks, Zoe
Yes, @Zoe_Forman it does clarify that for me. We technically do both Marketo engagement program and manual nurtures. Something that came up during our implementation with our Adobe partner made us come up with use cases for both. Thanks for helping!
Hi @Zoe_Forman and everyone else!
Sorry I'm late to post. My name is Maggie Atherstone. I am based in the NYC area. I have been using Marketo since January. I am working with Talent Branding at HashiCorp (tech company). My experience so far has been with trigger and batch email campaigns. I am excited to learn more from you all and get my certification.
My LinkedIn is https://www.linkedin.com/in/maggie-atherstone/ for anyone who wants to connect!
HI @matherstone Maggie,
Welcome to the group, sounds like you are well under way with creating programs.
If you can start to look through the Understanding & Building Programs module in the exam prep docs and any questions please ask.
I will be posting a Friday quiz based on the exam type questions around this so you get a feel of who questions are asked.
Each week we will look at a module in teh exam prop guide, but feel free to ask me anything.
Your questions can help you and others in this cohort.
Thanks, Zoe
Hey Maggie,
It's great to virtually meet you! It's awesome to hear about your experience with trigger and batch email campaigns at HashiCorp. I too started in January and I'm looking forward to learning alongside you and sharing insights.
What are some of the tips/tricks/issues that you faced in your first couple months that you wish you had learned sooner in your Marketo journey?
Best of luck on your certification journey! Feel free to connect with me on LinkedIn as well: Kami Nelson.
Looking forward to collaborating!
Hi @matherstone
Welcome to the dream team!
Hello there - My name is Cole, and I am based out in the Portland, Oregon metro area. I work in digital marketing for a construction and agriculture positioning company called Topcon Positioning Systems (think GPS/GNSS, lasers, construction/ag machine control, etc.). We work with Marketo for our day-to-day sytems, marketing, etc. and I have about 8-months of experience -- primarily with building campaigns, light data verification/cleaning, trigger and batch campaigns, etc.
I am most excited to learn from my peers on how to evolve my use of Marketo and ultimately achieve a passing score for the certification.
Hi @canneberg
Welcome to the team. How big is the audience you market to?
Sounds like you and @kami will have a lot of overlap and can share so many insights!
Hey Cole,
Nice to meet you! I too am in the Construction industry, would love to connect: https://www.linkedin.com/in/kaminelson/. Sounds like you have quite a few months under your belt. As someone only a couple months in what are a few things you learned the really helped you out at first?
Kami
I'd say most of my learning came from a training course my company paid for called "Marketo Core Concepts I." The instructor was super helpful and gives you a pretty good introduction of where things are, how things function, etc. Not sure about the price. I will say that by the time I took the course, I already had a pretty solid understanding of how to do things in Marketo, so it was more formal reinforcing for what I had learned before.
@canneberg yes external course can be a good 'refresher' for you when you have a basic understanding of Marketo.
Marketo is easy to understand, but takes time to master.
The Adobe Marketo exam prep guide is as much about learning the terminology and get familiar with how questions are asked in the exam.
I will look into this! Thank you.
