Hey,
you may take the practice test whenever you feel you are ready. You may take it now or just before you take your certification exam. It is a really good way to gauge your preparedness for the exam.

What i have felt in my prior experience is that the practice test usually has the same set of questions regardless of the number of times you appear for it. I'd recommend you to take it after you go through all the four section just when you feel you have covered the basics and are ready to schedule your exam.

You can take it as many times as you want. Just the questions would be the same😅

1.Go to the Admin area.

2.Click Users & Roles.

3.Click Invite New User.

4.Enter an Email, First Name, and Last Name for the API only user. Click Next.

5.Select the API Only role and check the API Only checkbox. Click Next.

6.Click Send.

And for the additional question, the credentials for the API User created in Marketo can typically be found in the "Admin"

Credentials can be found under the Admin > LaunchPoint menu by selecting the custom service, and clicking View Details.
