Hi everyone!
Welcome to our mentorship group! We'll kick off next week with the first module in the guide, but it would be great to understand your backgrounds a bit more! Can you reply to this thread answering the below questions?
A little background about me... I've been Marketo certified four times and have also run a mentorship program in my current role at Etumos. I'm excited to help you all on your journey towards certification!

Hi Natalie & All Other Aspirants! π
So nice to e-meet you all and excited to be on this journey together! π Currently, I'm a Senior Email Automation Specialist at Clio here in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Clio enables law firms to deliver better client experiences through cloud-based practice management, payments, and client intake software.
I've been using Marketo for 4-5 years now, previously in Luxury Travel π before joining Clio πΌ! In current and past roles I have used Marketo to:
I'm interested in getting certified to get the Adobe stamp of approval on my knowledge of Marketo and thought joining a group of peers would be a great way to network and meet other experts in the product! β
Looking forward to reading all the other introductions!
Enjoy your weekend! βοΈπ

Hi and nice to meet everyone!
A bit about myself:
I have used Marketo over the last ~10 years or so. I am currently the Marketo Product Owner at Asana in San Francisco. Asana is a leader in collaborative project management software for teams, no matter their size or locational distribution. Asana helps teams collaborate faster and smoother to achieve business objectives.
In my current role, we use Marketo for a lot of our top of funnel efforts including the lead handoff process to the Sales Team
I am excited about this opportunity to renew my certification, network with my peers and learn some new Marketo tips and tricks.
Looking forward to the process and connecting!

Thanks for joining us, Sibbs! Let me know how I can help you!
Nice to meet you, Natalie, and the rest of the group! Thank you for taking the time and energy to help guide us through this certification. β€οΈ
I've used Marketo for six years now after transitioning from ~four years of Salesforce Marketing Cloud platform work. I'm currently a Senior Marketing Automation Manager and team lead at Atlassian, and we use Marketo to manage the enterprise lifecycle and sales handoff process across multiple product and solution lines.
I've let my certification expire and keep putting it off as more projects come up. This is a way for me to be accountable to a timeline and have some fun while doing it.
Looking forward to the process!
@Jasmine_Deo, @smasunda, @ayanpaul can you let us know a little about yourself too?
Hi Natalie and to the rest of you!
I am thrilled to be in this program as I've been in Marketo for the last 2.5 years. I'm finally making the time to get certified.
I was in another mentor group previously but I've heard this one is a lot more engaged so I wanted to come learn from Natalie with you all!
I own Campaign Operations at Lucid Software.(visual diagramming, flow diagramming etc.) Therefore optimizing & reporting on campaigns is my top goal to ensure we're getting the very most out of our marketing efforts.
Working to get caught up as Natalie has provided so many valuable resources here, can't believe it!
Hi @logankardash, @Jasmine_Deo, @smasunda, @Chelsea_Corbett, @ayanpaul welcome to our first full week of the mentorship!
This week the Adobe Marketo Engage Business Practitioner Expert Prep Guide focus is on Administration and Maintenance which makes up 12% of the test. You'll learn about:
You can also take the official practice and send over notes of what questions and areas you struggled with. We can focus on these areas, too.
To take the practice test:
First, log in to the Adobe Credential Management System with your Adobe ID.
Then, go to the Adobe Certification Exam Prep Portal to find your practice test.
I'll post our quiz later this week so keep an eye out for that. In the meantime, let me know if you have any questions on this section by replying to this thread! I'm here to help and answer any questions you have!
Hi @Natalie_Kremer ! Going to catch up here I promise - things have just been a bit busy with work.
I have a question around the "Original Source Type" and "Registration Source Type".
They seem quite similar within the Understanding System Fields section but I noticed the verbiage for Original Source Type as more "Discovered" and Registration Source Type to be more "became a person".
What is the difference between someone being Discovered and Becoming a person? Am I correct in assuming that the registration type is the first time they submit a form or something concrete into Marketo and being discovered they would still just only have an anonymous ID? or do these more so go hand in hand?
Thank you π
