Q: When will the new editor be supported in all programs, so I can clone and move local assets?

A: Support for the new editor in all programs is planned for the first week of April 2025.

Q: Are Snippets still relevant, or should we switch to Fragments?

A: Fragments are designed for the new email editor and offer greater flexibility with customizable content. Snippets are still available in the current editor but cannot be used in the new experience.

Q: How do fragments differ from snippets?

A: Fragments are customizable and can be edited directly in an email, while snippets are static and cannot be edited within the email.

Q: Can Fragments be shared across Workspaces like Snippets?

A: Not at this point

Q: How do I add editable fields?

A: Editable fields are part of customizable fragments.

Q: How can I see if our instance has been migrated already to IMS?
A: If you are logging to your Marketo instance from experience.adobe.com then your instance is migrated

Q: Can emails created with the new editor be used in A/B Whole Email tests?

A: Not right now but we are working towards bringing support to A/B testing

Q: Is it possible to duplicate and move an email created within an email program to another program?

A: This functionality is planned to be available in the first week of April.

Q: Is there a way to enforce branding (fonts, logo and colors)?
A: Locking content sections will be part of the editor and locking styling, colors etc will be a fast followup this year

Q:  I do like the AI Assistant integration. Is it included out of the box or another paid additional add-on?
A: Out of the box but you need accept the new GenAI terms

Q: Will modular components work better? One feature that would be handy is if you accidentally delete a module from a working email, it can't be un-done. It would be nice to have a function to retrieve modules that were accidentally removed.
A: Interesting this is similar to the idea of Recycle Bin but something like this is not planned yet

Q: The dynamic content by attribute is great, but will the dynamic content by segment still work?
A: First version will be with attributes and we will work on getting segments going forward

Q: It appears that you can't add emails created with the new designer to a Nurture program - is this intended behavior or a bug?

A: This functionality is planned to be available in the first week of April.

Q: How will the new email editor work with custom fonts and brand hex codes?

A: You can add additional CSS using the "Advanced" option. Global level brand themes where you can set predefined style definitions, are coming soon.

Q: Is there still a way to "edit code" like on editor 2.0? I like to have full control over code of the whole email.

A: We plan first to launch scripting capabilities in May and then H2 2025, enable full code editing.

Q: Will it be possible to include custom fonts?

A: Yes, custom fonts are coming soon.

Q: When will the conditional content button be available?

A: Conditional content is planned for the first week of June.

Q: Any chance we can see AMP elements to be supported any time soon? Or just a simple emoji straight in would be a start.

A: Not planned for the next two quarters.

Q: How long before we are able to enforce branding: Fonts, Colors, Spacing, Logos, various module usage?

A: There is something called content locking on a section, once enabled it doesn't allow any changes to be done in styling either. Further we are bringing global level brand themes were you can set predefined style definitions.

Q: With segmentations shifting to conditional content, will the new email editor/Marketo be able to support more than the current limit of 20 segmentations?

A: Yes

Q: As an aside to that, will segmentations still be mutually exclusive to one another and work based on the same order priority/order of operations?

A: There is no change to the segments capability, if you meant this for conditional content then I would like you to think of the difference between conditional content rules and segments as: conditional content rule -- is a criteria which get evaluated for every lead during the send; Segment -- is a list of leads, and during the send, every lead will be checked if they belong to a given segment.

Technical & Compatibility

Q: The "default support" for responsiveness, will we have any control of how the default support interprets responsive layouts, or will we need to rely on the default settings?

A: Default settings, would love to take any feedback on how we can further improve this.

Q: In order to utilize the "Fragments" instead of the snippets will we need to re-build each of the snippets into Fragments?

A: Currently yes, but we are working on creating a migration tool where with few clicks you can easily migrate.

Q: Is there an option to open the code editor for the full email on the top right?

A: The ability to edit code within individual panels is available, but full code editing is planned for H2 2025.

Do you have a timeframe for this? We are starting to look at migrating our templates to the new builder and currently use the segments and snippets to drive localized footers based on both local language and location (ie Japan email will have footer in Japanese and have the Japan office address listed while in Belgium the language might be in French or English with the local office listed).  Trying to figure out how to reproduce this behavior in a template.

Can you please explain about whether modules are still available in New email designer? If available where are the options in the designer? Can you please provide some details, video/screenshots. Thankyou.

@DineshRe3 The recommendation is to use Fragments as an equivalent of modules, in the new email editor.

  • These Fragments, once approved can be dragged & dropped into the email editor canvas, similar to the usability of Modules in v2 email editor
  • Fragments can be locked, for governance
  • Brand themes can be applied to Fragments for locking in styles
  • Only approved Fragments can be used in emails/ email templates

Hi @derelict_wombat

Currently we only support attribute based conditional content (previously known as Dynamic content).

However, these attribute based conditions can be saved & reused (similar to the concept of Segments). Our recommendation is to start creating conditions & saving them for reuse.

Your segmentation/ segments -> dynamic content in v2 editor will be replaced by Conditions -> conditional content in the new email editor experience.

Navigate to 'Enable conditional content' option on the left nav of the new email editor > 'Select condition' against a variant > Define/ reuse conditions just like how you use Segments

@deepthiamir

Thank you for clarifying my doubt.

Hi, quick question about the new AI Email Editor in Marketo, In our current setup, we use modular templates mktoModule , with drag-and-drop blocks  , dynamic footers based on country (footers and social media logos changed based on user country profile), and logo switching in the header via list selection mktoList.

- Is it possible to replicate this kind of logic in the AI editor?
- Can it support modular templates or dynamic content for footers (e.g., per country) the same way the classic editor does?

Also, is there any plan to support non-English prompts in the new AI Email Editor? (Would love to know if multilingual prompt support is on the roadmap.)

@deepthiamir you mentioned the modules can be created as fragments, though can HTML based modules be used as fragments?

Thanks!

@lissettehz We do something very similar in regards to dynamic country/language footer.  Functionality to support this hasn't been released yet so really hoping its prioritized as its a blocker for my organization from using the new builder outside of some very targeted testing scenarios. I know its something that the Marketo product team is going to address but I was hoping it would be a release this summer as it seems like a key feature to a lot of users that I've spoken to.
