Issue

When attempting to import a list in the UI, an error appears that states "Invalid encoding" and the import does not complete.

Root Cause

Marketo requires the import CSV file be encoded with one of the following: UTF-8, UTF-16, Shift-JIS, or EUC-JP.

As next steps: Re-save the file, for example in Excel as file format CSV UTF-8, with the correct encoding. Then re-try the import into Marketo.
