The rollout of the email send program was great. The functionality is absolutely something we need for testing and improving our interactions with leads.
With that said, however, that program has been a bit of a problem child for our clients and team. Opposed to every other program in Marketo, creating and running an email send program is different, and frankly, more difficult. There are a lot of quirks and catches that make using it a hassel. The email send program doesn't quite have the functionality of the other 'Programs', but it's got additional functionality compared to a Smart List. It is technically a program, but can also live within another program. It created this muddled middle-tier that's frustrating to use.
I'm thinking it would make far more sense to be able to pull on a 'Flow Step' of 'Send A/B Email' in any smart campaign. This would then allow us to edit the A/B send just as you're currently able to in the email send program. I think this would reduce the time it takes to train users in the functionality and reduce confusion overall. It's definitely not an overnight fix, but it would be an awesome step to add to the roadmap.
