Based on how the discussions are configured in Marketo, I've noticed that unless someone sees my post on the first or second page, it will go unanswered and never be seen again (unless it comes up in a search). I would love to see a view that allows the community to see all recent discussions based on most recent reply. This will move the discussion thread back up to most recent status. Unfortunately, "Active Discussions" isn't a solution. For example, I replied to several older discussion threads today, hoping to start up the conversation again. Unfortunately, no one is seeing this unless they subscribed to the original thread. And none of these appeared when clicking on "Active Discussions".
