Original links in sample emails

Original links in sample emails

In the May 2014 Release the original links have disappeared from the sample emails, instead they have been replaced by tracking links. This was a really bad idea!! Previously I could share a copy of the email with non-tracking links with my team by just forwarding a copy of the samle email. Now I have to manually edit and replace all the links in the email (between 5 and 10 links in a typical email), which is very frustrating and wasting a lot of time.

Please "undo" this "feature" and revert it back so that we can still leverage the sample email when we need a copy with original, non-tracking links. And by the way, an oft file is not an option -- at least not last time I checked, as it does not correctly retain the formatting of the email.

Here is the information from the May release notes:

Link Markup in Sample Emails

See how your links will behave in emails ahead of time. Sample emails now display links exactly how they would appear to your leads. Preview which links have been converted to tracking links, giving you a better sense of how the message will actually appear to recipients.

I absolutely support this idea....
I think it is a lot of additional work that we can save by just removing this feature.

Thanks!

In sample emails, it's important that we show exactly how the email will be displayed to prospects. That was the fundamental reasoning behind the new feature that was rolled out in the May release. While it may be a *bit* more inconvenient to click the link if you need to remember what the original URL was, it's far better than accidentally sending out an email with tracking links that could break an integration unexpectedly.

If you truly need to show someone the original links, you could temporarily add the "mktNoTrack" class to the links before sending your sample email. That said, we highly encourage folks to inspect the message as it will be seen by leads. It's a good habit to adopt.
