marketo, SFDC sync

Hello,

          We are currently working on a SFDC project in which one functionality is to link Marketo with SFDC. But there is something we would like to find out about customising marketo and if it is possible, before we link our marketo sandox with our salesforce sandbox.  We would like to have a check box field in marketo for leads/contacts  that helps in synching into them SFDC. So, for example if the check box is checked, the record is synced else its not.

Future developments: Once this is done, in the later stages we would implement the same kind of functionality  when SFDC contacts are synced with Marketo but with some criteria (might not be a check box).

It would be really appreciated if you could help us in this customisation.

You can certainly do this.
You can also think about blocking areas of SFDC from the Marketo Sync user using Roles in SFDC and a cobination of check box is not check etc.

Yes this is absolutely possible now.

For instance, you could create a custom field in SFDC that Marketo would pick up that is "Sync with SFDC" - then you could use whether this checkbox is ticked to drive all Marketo sync actions. It's not that different to driving the sync action based on a lead score (when something equals true, sync to SFDC, otherwise do nothing), it's just a smart campaign driving all global Marketo sync actions.

And as Edward says, you already control what syncs from SFDC to Marketo based on the Marketo sync user profile in SFDC.

           In our requirement, all data can be syncd from SF to marketo, but when syncing data from marketo to salesforce ,only a few records( which have check box checked) need to be synced. Any help is greatly appreciated.
