Yes, I can code HTML ok - not awesomely, but I can do it. I spent a lot of money on Marketo because it's awesome, and it has lots of power and insight into my customers and prospects, and integrates fabulously with my CRM. But it drives me pretty near crazy that it is so hard to to create, modify, and brand beautiful, simple, responsive email templates with elegance and ease like I can do in other popular commercial email marketing tools. I recently had the pleasure of hearing about Marketo's roadmap for upcoming releases, and there are some great features....but none of those really matter to me, nor am I likely to have time to figure out how to use them if making emails continues to be so stinking hard.
In today's world, marketers are being asked to do more with less. It's a pain to have to be dependent on my weak HTML skillz and combing the Marketo Community, or someone else to code my templates for me. I have purchased email templates, I have tried the free Marketo ones...it's still not good enough in my opinion. Please Marketo..as an awesome enterpise marketing automation package, please drive more 'consumerization' of your app in this area.
