Keep your place in tree when deleting an object

In the navigation tree, let's say you are selected on a particular smartlist within a subfolder. If you delete that smartlist, your place in the navigation tree gets reset to the top of the tree. This is super annoying, especially when you are trying to delete a number of smartlists in the same folder deep within your tree hierarchy. It would be great if when you delete the smartlist, you still keep your place in the tree (it just moves one object up, or one object down, rather than resetting you all the way back to the top of the tree).
