Firefox 23

Firefox 23

It would be nice if Marketo addressed the issue with Firefox 23, which every computer will update to automatically. You cannot view landing pages correctly any longer in Firefox 23, similar to how it looks in Chrome. Marketo says 'this is a browser issue;' however if every computer updates to Firefox 23, it's a global issue and Marketo should fix it for their many users.

Hi Sam,

I am having Engineering look into this issue with Firefox 23.  I'll update the post when I have more details.

Thanks,
Cheryl

Sam - can you send me some samples of landing pages that did not properly load.

Sure.. here is one https://na-sj01.marketodesigner.com/lpeditor/landingPagePreview?lpview=preview&pageId=2173&deployedLatest=true

When you view the approved page in Firefox, it is formatted correctly. But when you click 'Preview Page' or 'Edit Draft' for landing pages, the formatting is off, so is extremely difficult to edit and build.

Hi Sam,

This is actually a change that was made in Firefox by Mozilla, where it blocks http content placed on a https page. Please see - https://blog.mozilla.org/tanvi/2013/04/10/mixed-content-blocking-enabled-in-firefox-23/ for more info.

I'm with Sam on this. How do we prevent this from happening, can we authorize marketo to access http content from an https environment? I have the same thing in Chrome. I currently use Chrome for all of my work, except landing pages and then I open Firefox. But if you can't see the CSS cause it isn't being delivered securely then you can't edit the landing page.

I agree with Adam. I understand it's a change Firefox made, but this makes designing landing pages in Marketo practically unusable in all browsers, except IE which is not ideal to work in. Is there anything you all can do, like Adam's suggestion, to prevent this from happening?

I have the same problem with FF 23 - I've had to step back to 22 twice to keep things working properly.  Do the landing pages work properly in Chrome?

Apparently, Mozillia is looking into allowing users to turn off this feature on a domain level basis.  (One of the "bugs" they are working on is a whitelist capability for this - perhaps Marketo engineering should provide commentart to Mozilla on this?)

In the meantime, the footnotes and comments to the article that Jim L posted on the feature (Mixed Content Blocking) provide information about how to turn the feature off.

Basically you do the following:
To unblock Mixed Active Content, open a window or tab in Firefox and enter about:config.  You will get to a page that asks you to promise to be careful.  Promise you will be, and then change the value of security.mixed_content.block_active_content to false by double clicking it.

Jocelyn is correct about stopping Firefox from preventing the page to load. Here is a blog post by one of Mozilla's developers in regards to this feature they just added - https://blog.mozilla.org/tanvi/2013/04/10/mixed-content-blocking-enabled-in-firefox-23/.

The relevant part that Jocelyn is referencing can be seen in the screenshot
