I think it would be extremely helpful to have an email preview pane similar to how the Images and Files previews are set up. Sometimes I just need to quickly view an email to see what graphics were used or what the headline was. Instead of having to completely open the email in a new tab to preview it, I think having a smaller snapshot to the right of the email details would be great!
