Email Performance Reports - Adding a "Sent Date" Column To The Report

In order to effectively link email marketing campaigns to website KPIs such as visits, pageviews, etc., the one parameter that makes this analysis possible is a "Sent Date" field for the email campaigns.  Case in point, if one launches an email campaign on a particular day and there is a corresponding peak in web activity that same day such as an increase in visits, then we can attribute that increased web activity to the email.

However, I wish when I exported email performance reports from Marketo, that a "Sent Date" field could be associated with emails that are sent 1 time such as those you see with programs and streams.  I am not too concerned about automatic email notifications that result from form fill outs for example but just those emails that are indeed campaigns.  Through analysis done either through spreadsheets or business intelligence tools such as Tableau, one can link all of the information together to show campaign-specific impact on website analytics just by having the email sent date and the Google Analytics activity date.  Without the email sent date though, there is no chance to link the data, aside from manually creating a column in your spreadsheet and entering the date yourself.

Yes, I totally aggree with you. The reports show only "last activity", but a correct metric for the email reports will be a "Sent Date" + "Sent Time" in separate columns, to be able to analyze and optimize future deployments, based on Date and Time results

Hi Carlos,

There is a column name "First Activity" in Email performance report which list down date along with the time(time zone of instance) of first activity for each email, we use this field as a sent date as first activity on Campaign happens on the same day of email sent and close to sent time of email

I'm exporting from this "email insights" screen and having the same issue. The Excel file I get has no date column. The #1 thing asked of email marketing specialists: "when's the best day to send an email?" followed by "When's the best time to send an email?" - I get neither answer from this report! Please help!
