Display for which section you are working in: New Look and Feel

When I have multiple tabs open in Marketo in the new look & feel, there isn't a tab or heading that lets me know which section I am in: design studio, marketing activities, etc. You used to have your tab highlighted, but since this is gone, I think there should be some way to display this to make flipping between tabs more easily identifiable.

Brittany, we show the Marketo tab name in the browser tab. Check out the screenshot below:

It works until you get involved working in a program or page.

This is a screen shot from the Marketing Activities tab, if you are working on a local asset, or smart campaign, you do not have all of those tab identifiers.

Seems like a waste of real estate to put Marketo on the tab.  We already know from the icon that it's Marketo, it's just vanity to have to state your own name.

Hi Brittany - if you remove what you have in the search bar, it will tell you what tab you are working in

^But that is poor UI.

I was going to post about this yesterday in the SuperBall discussion, but didn't want to muddy the waters there. Overall I am pleased with the redesign, but the UI for knowing which section you are working in needs improvement.

There wasn't alot of good space to reinforce the section, but we will be looking for opportunities to do so.  Your concern is absolutely valid.

It's interesting that you say there wasn't a lot of good space, Glen. It seems like there's a TON of unused space in the new design. Is that a blank space holding place for stuff that's coming down the line?

Send a screenshot with an arrow to where you would suggest it.

Ive ruled out putting it directly to the right of the superball.  I want to keep that element with some whitespace around it.

To answer your question, we ALWAYS have stuff coming down the line.  One major thing is to "reinvent" the left hand trees.  These need a major overhaul and will change the whole idea of "design studio" or "Marketing activities".  It will be bringing all the sections together in an easier to use/search model.  Im hoping to start design on that this summer.
