Character-sensitive option in queries

I'm currently trying to track down some potential mojibake in email addresses so that I can isolate the addresses for cleanup; unfortunately, most characters default back to standard searches; that is, if I'm looking to see if á is in an email address, queries search for anything containing a. I realize the benefits this has for names and other common queries, but for technical pieces like email addresses, I want a greater control over queries—after all, RFC 6530 support is patchy at best and I need to catch these things.

Courtney, we don't support having á in email addresses in Marketo. You could use this in a SL Filter, however, if you wanted to identify things like "leads that have first name containing á" and it would work as expected. Are you trying to do something else?

Hi Justin,

I'm well aware that Marketo doesn't support having á in email addresses and thus why I'm trying to root them out in the first place. When data comes in from other sources, these entries can get erroneously added to Marketo—the best option I'd currently have is to do the pull via API or the painful method of dumping the database and doing an analysis. I'm just saying right now that if you do a query for addresses containing á, it's going to pull all email addresses with a. I'm looking for more specificity in order to root out issues.

I'm trying to understand how you're searching exactly for these characters. In SL Filter? In Search Box on Lead Database?
