Add More Control the "Convert Lead" Flow Action

Currently the "convert lead" flow action seems to work off the inherent functionality Salesforce offers:
-Create a New Contact
-Create a New Account
-Create a New Opportunity

While I can understand its going to be difficult to "dedupe" in this process, I would like to control whether or not an Opportunity is created upon this action.  What are the scenarios we'd want to see this?

-SFDC Customers that don't use Leads and want everything to automatically become an Account/Contact
-SFDC Customers that use PERSON ACCOUNTS who want to automatically create a person account without an opp (or with an opp, but given the choice)

We've esentially been unable to use the convert lead flow action for this very reason - not sure why it is ever assumed that converting a lead should always create an opportunity. In our experience less than 20% of lead conversions create new opps, the rest are converting new leads into accounts that have existing ops already. Would help us incredibly with data cleanup to be able to run a campaign that converts leads with existing accounts and opportunities into those accounts with creating opps. Not a huge priority but it would be a cool piece of functionality.

I second this request/idea.  I understand the difficulties behind it, but it sure would be nice to be able to convert leads (w/ same Company name or same domain) to a pre-existing account.  The workaround for us is to send an alert to a bus dev person when an account is set to "marketing suspend" (e.g. when the sales person is owning communication) asking them to sync all leads at that company and then convert them to the appropriate account.

Our team thirds the idea! We'll have to figure out a workaround as we don't want newly created person accounts to result in an opportunity by default...

I vote for this!  We would like to be able to create person accounts without an opportunity.  We need to find a work around in the meantime.

Another nice feature to this would be to allow us to set the record type. I'm sure there is a work around by changing data value, but it's not as user friendly.

I vote for this!  We use Person accounts for our home products purchasing online. We see that Person Accounts are coming back to our site and downloading corprate trial products and need a way to handle Contacts vs Person Contacts.

Agree. This would be really useful for us - like others in this thread we can't use the convert lead flow action, because it always creates an opportunity.
