Ability to Social Share within emails

With Marketo you're only allowed to social share on webpages, it would be nice to be able to 1. share email content through different social media channels, 2. be able to designate/customize what social media URL, 3. customize the content that gets shared and 4. ability to customize those icons easily or upload your own icons based on your company's brand standards.

Silverpop has the same feature. You can add the text of your social post and the system appends the tiny URL of the web version of the email.

If you include within your emails CTA sto join the marketing database (i.e. competition, newsletter subscription, etc..) it is a great feature that allows you to extend the reach of your email marketing campaigns and pick up some leads from social media.

I must admit I was shocked when I started working with Marketo and didn't see this feature in the product.

I would vote 3 times for this if I could!

ExactTarget (SalesForce Marketing Cloud) has this feature built in. We're new to Marketo and quite disappointed such a basic feature is not available. Ironically, this Marketo blog post shows that email has the highest reach & engagement as a result of social sharing but the ability to make emails shareable on social is not easy with Marketo.

Exactly right! If there was an easy way to do this like in the email editor or something (like mailchimps) that would be amazing! Not sure sure why you would include social share on web pages but not emails. Wanting to put this in our agent signatures without going through hoops and creating a new field

We have yet to tap into our Social media channel and if there was a way to track those leads referred through social media then create a triggered based email to ask if they would like to subscribe to X list, a lot of gaps would be accounted for

HubSpot has the social sharing feature built in so you can add it to landing pages, emails, blog posts or web pages. It's a simple email marketing/inbound functionality that should be native to the platform, not something that I have to manually create!
