I just viewed the short video explaining the new Dialogue Edition of Marketo. Some of the new simple report builders would be something our organization would like to offer to our marketers. Will these be made available within other editions of Marketo?

I figured out the solution with the help of our Marketo support rep. Here are the values to use: source: name of the URL parameter (in our case, it's "ref" - without the quotes) #LeadSource - "#" + name of the API name of the field (in our case, it's "#Referral_URL")

There is no SETTINGS drop-down. Just to clarify, the Program Performance report includes ALL programs - which is what we require here. Basically, show us the performance of all programs for a defined time period.

Thanks. Would I retrieve this directly in the hidden "ref" field or define it within the parent page that hosts the iframe? Would I still use this to properly define that value?

When running the Program Performance report within "Analytics", we need a way to view this data by time period (e.g., a specific quarter). When I click on the "Report" tab to view the results, there is a filter icon followed by "All Time". Clicking on this should allow me to define a specific timeframe. But all it does is take me to the "Setup" tab - where there is no option to define a specific timeframe. How can this be accomplished?

On our site's Contact-Us form, I've included a hidden form field to retrieve the URL of the page a user was visiting prior to clicking on the "contact us" link (the link includes a "?ref=[url of referring page]" parameter. We are using a Marketo form with an iframe on our site's contact us page. I've setup the form properly using the instructions here (http://community.marketo.com/MarketoArticle?id=kA050000000KyqoCAC) - using a parameter name of "ref". But when I test the page, only the default value is populating the hidden form field - not the actual "ref" value. Can this not be done when using an iframe-embedded form/landing page?

I need to provide a daily program performance report to the campaign manager. The report should look very similar to the program members report below. But I don’t see any option to create a subscription here – where it would send a daily Excel file out. How would I do this?

Regarding point #1, yes, unfortunately leads on a suppression list are counted against your database limit (unless you were able to negotiate this during contract signing.

I often direct my team to the Deep Dive help articles since they includes a comprehensive listing of articles associated with a common topic. Unfortunately the listing of bullets is presented alphabetically instead of logically. For example, look at the the Engagement Programs Deep Dive (http://community.marketo.com/MarketoDeepDive?id=kA5500000008QlPCAU). As someone who is not yet familiar with the functionality, it would seem obvious to present this listing in a step-by-step approach rather than jumping around from link to link. In this example, "Add Content to a Stream" should not be the first bullet (I haven't even created a stream yet). Instead, the list could be arranged as follows: Create an Engagement Program Create a New Smart Campaign Add Content to a Stream Add Leads to an Engagement Program Enable Communications Limits etc.

Actually, there is a way to do this in Marketo. To create another sub-domain (in addition to the landing page CNAME) navigate to Admin > Landing Pages > New > New Domain Alias > then type your desired Domain Alias and Default Page. Once that's setup, we will instruct our IT team to setup a CNAME for the new sub-domain using the same info as our existing landing page CNAME. Now, that new sub-domain is available from the "Original URL" drop-down and I can proceed to redirect at the page level, all from within Marketo.

We will be shutting down the existing service very soon - so capturing the leads on the other platform is not an option. I wanted to avoid setting up redirects for EVERY page and was hoping to do this at the sub-domain level.

Prior to Marketo, we used (and continue to use) another marketing automation platform (until we're fully deployed on Marketo). We are in the process of migrating everything over to Marketo. There are still some active landing pages that will require us to redirect the URL to the ones we will create in Marketo. It's using a different sub-domain/CNAME than what we have setup in Marketo. My thought was to have our IT team modify the DNS/CNAME for the other sub-domain so that it points to our Marketo environment (similar to how we have setup our sub-domain for our current landing pages and use the redirect tool in the admin area to redirect any active URL to a Marketo landing page. But when I modify the value in the field below to “forms.avanade.com”, it switches back to “pages.avanade.com” (this is our CNAME in Marketo) when I leave the field: How do we go about using this tool to support other sub-domains?

Per Michelle's comment above, why does the body text color change to a very light gray on an iPhone and not display as same color as the "intro title" and "title of email"? When viewing it within Outlook, the text color is consistent throughout. I'm referring to the "Marketo Classic" template.

Thanks Josh. This could work for some (those that need no editing within the local workspaces), but I guess this will require an intense manual effort of cloning and placing in each workspace those assets that may require editing/localizing in each country.

Our data privacy/security policies require separate lead partitions within each country (and is aligned to how our CRM system is configured). Furthermore, since most countries have dedicated marketing personnel to support all go-to-market activity (including localization of global programs and campaigns), this approach made the most sense to keep the Marketo environment manageable and prevent other marketers from accessing (and accidetally deleting/modifying) other country assets/campaigns. We are in the process of defining business rules that are needed - e.g., lead assigment to the proper lead partition when it enters the defaul lead partition in Marketo. And while we are working closely with our Marketo consultants to deploy this environment properly, I would like to understand any potential issues that we're not yet aware of. Feel free to share these with me.

I would love your thoughts on this and any best-practices you can share. Not only the folder structure in Marketing Activities, but also things like email and landing page templates, images, etc. For example, if we have 25 email templates in Design Studio, how do we ensure these are available in each workspace?

Thanks Elliott. I have seen most of this - although I'm now checking out the responsive email templates. But I'm still trying to understand how we can create flexible, editable regions for our marketers to use. So let's say we create one editable region for the main email copy. The copy will contain a couple paragraphs of normal text with a couple sub-headings in between the paragraphs. How does the marketer select the formatting of those sub-headings? If we were talking about landing page, we could use CSS to stylize the H1, H2, H3 tags and then it can be applied to the selected text (using the drop-down menu of heading tags). But that option is not available in the email editor. Would the marketer need to have some understanding of HTML and manually apply a <span> tag around those sub-headings using the HTML view?

I'm looking for some input from this community on any best practices when it comes to email template design. I'm mainly concerned with a scalable approach in a distributed environment. We already are focusing on simplifying our templates so that they are very focused and contain a minimal amout of content. For example, we want to minimize the number of editable areas but at the same time, provide enough flexibility so that the proper formatting can be included within those editable regions. Let's take take the main body copy as an example. Within that body copy will be regular text, bulleted items (sometimes) and sub-headings. How would one format the sub-headings with our defined styleguide since there's no option from the HTML editor toolbar like there is for landing pages? On the landing pages, we would use CSS for H1, H2, etc. Would love to hear your thoughts.

This is happening to me as well. I'm using the "tradeshow-attendees.csv" file. I even removed the hyphen from the filename as well as remove the extra blank row that gets added when you save the file from Excel (I removed the row using Notepad). I still get "Invalid file type" error.
