Why is my cloned unsubscribe form changing the original?

Why is my cloned unsubscribe form changing the original?

I am complete Marketo novice and have been tasked with setting up a reader survey. I have done the template, and cloned an unsubscribe form landing page from another program. When I amend the cloned version though (solus eCast), it amends the original as well. I thought if I cloned it would be a new version that I could change. What am I doing wrong?

No, if you clone an individual landing page, it will just clone the page as-is. In your case, that page is referencing a specific Marketo form. After the clone, the new page will continue to reference that same form.

You can, of course, clone an entire program that contains a LP and a Form that the LP is using. In this case, you would end up with all new assets (it would create a new form and page and change the references).

Well, i think he's looking at the wrong page?

If you clone, there is no backward effect on the original page.

Maybe you can give us more detail? Do you mean the workflow is still using the old page?

His page is using a form, and it will continue to use that same form if you just clone the individual landing page. It will only make a second copy of the form if you clone the parent program. The issue he was describing was that, after doing this, he made a change to the form and was surprised to see that the changes were applied to the form on both pages.
