Using Marketo landing pages to share firmware files

Hi all,

Is anybody using Marketo landing pages to share their company's product-related firmware files?

If you know anything about best-practices for hosting and sharing firmware files with customers please let me know! What are the tools you use and what are some things to keep in mind regarding how firmware files are shared?

Best practices wouldn’t be to host the files themselves in Marketo‘s Design Studio because you want as few “fingers in the pot” as possible with such sensitive files.

You can host the firmware files on your remote server, probably dropped automatically by your CI tool/pipeline, then have a Marketo LP that merely points to the files for downloading. Or, more typically, points not to the file itself but to the download page for the file, maybe with the specific file pre-selected via a query param.

Bottom line, I’d feel pretty weird about a .ROM file being in Design Studio. It’s not 100% unthinkable, but weird.
