Uploading Lead Lists with Lead Owners

To avoid duplicates, we are trying to load our leads lists through Marketo instead of directly to the CRM. Sometimes with these leads lists we already know the owner of the lead and that is a part of the spreadsheet.
 
We have run into an issue with doing this in Marketo… I tried to do it and populate the lead owner email address but that field was blocked. We already know who we want the lead to be assigned to and that person is listed in teh spreadsheet but not sure how to get them into Marketo. Not sure where to go from here...

Hey Lindsey, try using the "Change Owner" flow step with the conditions based on the custom field as Adam described. I.e., if custom_owner_field = Bob, Owner Name = Bob, etc.

It won't let me chagne a data value on a lead owner... any other ideas?

Adam has the right idea.

If your lead assignment rules are right, then you can just rely on those.

Hi Lindsey,

You can't import data to the Lead Owner field directly.

What I would do if I were you - create a custom field titled "temporary lead owner" or something similar. Set a Smart Campaign "Data Value Change" Trigger to update the Lead Owner based on values in that custom field.
