What is your process for updating your email templates with new copyrights? We have many active programs and campaigns and when the templates are updated, it puts the current emails into draft mode.
We are thinking of archiving the 2015 templates and creating 2016 ones but that still requires us to alter all the current program emails, which is quite a bit of work. We also use a lot of dynamic content in the emails, so disconnecting from templates isn't an option.
Thanks for any advice! Amber Hobson Emily Thornton
I have a parent "Universal Tokens" folder with a copyright year token that I've embedded into my email templates. This way, I only have to update the token and it'll change automatically across all my templates. If you search the community for "tokens" or any posts by Edward Unthank, you'll see lots of ways this can be done.
Adam New-Waterson also has a detailed presentation on using folder and inherited tokens. see last year's summit slides.
The other thing to remember for OLD emails is that it really does not matter what the copyright year is. Copyright is very long, much longer than you should worry about.
