Unsubscribed vs Unsubscribes from Email

What is the difference between unsubscribed and unsubscribes from email? When reporting weekly, which is more valuable to show?

Re: Unsubscribed vs Unsubscribes from Email

Hi Kim,

In this case:

  • Unsubscribed would be detailing the act of unsubscribing in general
  • Unsubscribed from Email - The asset that triggered the email to go to your Unsubscribe Page to Unsubscribe

The second would be more useful when pinpointing which emails have driven unsubscribes and you could even set up a logic with a naming convention (example NL for Newsletter and NU for Nurture):

Unsubscribed from Newsletter -> Unsubscribed from Email, Email contains "NL"

Unsubscribed from Nurture -> Unsubscribed from Email, Email contains "NU"

Edit: For reporting purposes if you have smartlists set up with the naming convention you can create custom columns in your weekly reports (depending on where you set them up) to be more detailed.
