Re: Unknown leads in smart campaigns

Question for the group.

Were you previously able to see unknown leads in your smart campaign results?  I thought this was available before, but now it's not showing up.

For example, let's say I have a content channel program with the steps  visited and engaged.
Step 1 captures people that visited the webpage.
Step 2 captures people that engaged by filling out a form.

Right now, I can only see known leads in step 1.  I would expect to see both known and unknown leads that visited the webpage, but haven't engaged with us yet.  This info is important for our adwords campaigns.

Best,
-Jamie

Below are a series of screen shots from our Add Anonymous Visitor to List smart campaign and the static List that to which it adds the anonymous visitors.  The smart campaing happens to reside under a program, but doesn't need to since you can't have an anonymous lead in a program.

Hi Elliot,

I have a phone call with Support to discuss. I don't know if this is possible, but if you have any screenshots of the unknown leads showing up in your smart campaigns, and the triggers that you used, it would be most helpful.  They are under the impression that unknown leads do not show up in smart campaigns.

Thanks,
-Jamie

Thanks Elliot.  Yes it is. I was hoping I missed something like what you mentioned, but so far, that's not the case.

Thanks,

Be sure that your View in the campaign member list has the ID field selected to be displayed.

That is correct.  I am not able to see the IDs at all.  Not sure if there's a setting somewhere that I need to enable or if it's a bug. I filed a ticket with support.  They originally told me that my instance was working as designed and that unknown lead IDs will not show up in these smart campaign member reports.  But I wanted to check with other users first.

Thanks so much!,

Where you not able to see any ID#s at all?  Mine does have a higher # of unknown leads that are part of the total member, but the actual people who converted is smaller.

Cool!  Then we def have a bug.  The behavior you described is what I expected, but not what I saw.  I bet it's due to our recent transition to Solr.  I'll report it to support.  Thanks so much for your help!

Yes when you got to your smart campaign for visited webpage, look at the page Summary.  Where it says Members: there's a number that's clickable.  Click on it, and you'll see the list of members.  Even those that are anonymous will have an ID#, if you click on it, you'll see more details.

Thanks for all the replies.  When you say you can "see" the leads in the status of the smart campaign.  Do you mean,  you can actually see them as members of a smart campaign (although they don't appear in the program status report)?  If someone from inferred company X clicked on our adwords webpage, should they be listed in the Visits Web page smart campaign report?

For example, one of my Google Adwords Visits Web page smart campaigns shows that I have 417 members, but when I click on the View Campaign number, only the 49 known leads appear in my report.

The reason for my questions is that we recently switched over to Solr and encountered a known bug, and we were completely unable to view members of smart campaigns (now fixed).  So I am wondering if this is a bug, a feature change, or something that I just wish was available.

Thanks!

You can see the anonymous leads in the status campaign for the visited the webpage, but as Elliott mentioned above they will not appear on the program. Also you can view the # of clicks but didn't convert in your Google Adwords Account.

You can see anonymous leads in the results of smart campaigns, but you cannot see them as members in programs.
