Re: Treasure Chest Email Preview: Link Stats

This little feature slipped by me. After all releases, I scoot over to the Treasure chest to see if there are any new goodies.

I really like this new one, Email Preview/ Link Stats. I think it will be great for my team to preview their previously sent emails and see what people clicked on. Just another way of providing information easier to the end user. I love it!

You can still continue to use the feature.  I will just be removing it so that no more people can turn it on.  I will let you know when it is ready for prime time and in a release.

Hi Everyone,

This little feature made it's way into treasure chest in error, unfortunately.  I will be removing it from the Treasure Chest until it is ready for primte time (and we are looking into differentiating the links if they are in the email more than once).  If you have the feature turned on, and you want to turn it off, do so right away.  If in the near future you need to turn it off, please let me know by posting here.

Thanks,
Cheryl

Yep, this screenshot is the thank you page where prospects land after filling out a form to download the content.

We're able to tell that people are using the "while you're at it" links, but we essentially have to build Smart Lists to get that reporting. It would be nice to be able to gauge those links against each other quickly to see how people are engaging.

indeed...
we usually have only one CTA on our landing pages which is fill out form to download paper or to register to event.

Out of curiosity do your prospects end up on this landing right after receiving an email? Or is there an in-between page with form (and the screenshot is more like a Thank You page)?
Do people use the "while you"re at it" extra urls? Or you don't know and that's why you want to have stats for this page as well.

BTW: I have checked and it looks like it's possible to see the stats on landing pages (same way as for emailings). However as we don't have mutliple CTAS on our landing pages, we have only 0% ...

@ Cecile: Definitely. On most of our follow-up landing pages, we have other CTAs after filling out the form. For content downloads, it might be related content or free product trials, for events it might be "spread the word" or "refer a friend", etc. Below is an example that would serve perfectly.

@ Drew: apart from the form, do you often have other CTAs on your landing page? the feature only works if there are urls...

This would be AWESOME to have for landing pages as well.

hi all, I have just tested and this is working.

I have a question though. If we are using same html for various campaigns, will the stats apply for one campaign or for summation of campaigns? I did 2 real campaigns using partially same audience and it seems that stats have been added...

I think Ian's idea is the correct one to best use this feature

Landing page comments was in 'new release' notes several months ago, but I had not ever even heard of the link stats feature until this thread.

@ Craigrrr: didn't even recall having read something about landing page comments and I think I have subscribed to all the possible alerts ! 🙂

@ Adam: thanks for letting us know about this cool feature.

@ Ian: You're right: if same url is pasted several times, stats are the same for all locations.
I wish I was able to see if url behind button is better than the one in body or the one behind visual. Can you let us know if your workaround works?

Thanks

I think the reason it slipped by us is that I can't find anywhere where they ever told us about it.  What release did that come with?

Thanks, I just enabled this in our account also and its Awesome!

One thing I noticed though is if I have 3 links in an email that go to the same place it has the exact stats for all of them. I am going to try adding a query string to the links next time to see if they are differentiated.
