I understand Marketo tracks referral URL's but does it have the ability to capture the name of the link if a vanity URL is used in place of a Marketo produced URL.
Also, does anyone have any documentation that could be shared about integrating Google Analytics and Marketo.

The URL of the source (referrer) is going to be equally trackable regardless of whether the target is *.marketo.com or *.example.com. However: [a] the true referrer is purposely obscured by many sources and [b] if the source is running https:// but the target is http://, there will never be a visible referrer.
